My knowledge and skills in using computers and other forms of technology come from different sources and I haven't faced any problems dealing with new programs or gadgets. I took the course becuase I have to and I had this preconception "It's going to boring!" since I already have all the skills this course is supposed to equip us with. Yet, things turned to be different! It's true that I know almost everything so far, but I feel I'm going to learn new skills and new ways to apply the ones I already have. That's why now I'm always looking forward to our class meetings for I know I'm going to learn something new!

We had hard time with the internet today and couldn't finish creating the webquest.
I've worked on webquests before. The one I did was related to E.A.Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart". It wouldn't be hard for me to create another one but there are some details I don't remember with respect to the creation part especially that I've worked on Yahoo Geocities and this is the first time I work on Google sites. Today's class helped in refreshing my memory and filling the gaps with the missing techniques.
Wedensday Mar. 21,
Our class today was about designing posters as a presentation of a study we did. That was an interesting topic. However, the idea of summarizing a 30-page study in a limited area is a bit challenging. It is hard to decide which parts to choose and which to consider as less important and can be cancelled. Another challenge is the design: it has to be engaging and attention grabbing enough but professional and elegant. Nevertheless, I still find it an interesting idea and I guess I'm going to enjoy designing a poster for one the studied I've done during my masters.

Today we met the naughty mouse! That was an interesting program to make powerpoint presentations more fun, and most importantly, interactive. Using this microsoft software called mouse mischief, you can add questions of different types which students can answer; students can even draw on the powerpoint slides.
It's really amazing to know that such software is available. A lot of activities and games could be created using it thus giving more chances for teachers and students to have more fun as during the teaching- learning process.

I just finished working on my poster which is about pre-reading strategies. I've seen and used a lot of posters but it feels different to get the chance to design your own. Getting to choose the colors, the font, what to include and where make you motivated to craft the best design ever, or at least feel it is so. Later, you will be eager to use it in your teaching or training and you'll be proud that YOU did it!

Yesterday, we started planning for our project. We're planning to base on two short stories. The idea of integrating all your knowledge and skills to produce a unit of instruction to suit your students' levels is motivating. I've had a previous experience with such projects when I took the Advanced Methods of Teaching English and I am very proud of the book I made. I consider it the achievement of my life. I hope that this project would be another achievement for me and a new chance for my students to experience learning in a different way.
